American Interim Youth Worker Busy in British Schools

By: Chuck McComb

Greer Monson, a graduate of Dallas Baptist University is in her 4th year serving as a volunteer youth and children’s worker at Melton Mowbray Baptist Church (Near Leicester, England). Greer and her team called GenR8, routinely get invited into schools in the area. They usually make presentations at school assemblies with the entire student body in attendance.

Thursday 3 July was a particularly busy day for Greer and her team. They presented 5 assemblies at 5 different schools! The assembly talked about forgiveness and how important it is to forgive each other but also how God is always willing to forgive us. Greer reported that this school term they have gone into 19 different schools, reaching roughly 3,000 children with this message. The assembly consists of singing, sketches, puppets, and audience participation. Greer said, “We have been warmly received at every school and the kids always are excited to see us.”
